Junior Takeover Returns For Giants Clash!

Junior Takeover is back for 2024 at our upcoming fixture against the Giants!

Club News

Our annual Junior Takeover returns for 2024 as we offer our young members the chance to take part in once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and get an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the Black & Whites when we take on Huddersfield Giants in April.

As well as offering all 2024 Members the opportunity to bring an additional junior to the match for just £1 (click here for more info), seven lucky junior members will team up with members of the club’s match day staff and get an exclusive hands-on experience in helping the club pull their match day together at the MKM Stadium when we take on the Giants on Saturday 6th April (3.00pm).

Roles vary from pitch announcer to photographer, with the experience helping inspire youngsters towards a career in professional sport off the pitch in the ever-growing sports industry, as well as creating unforgettable memories around their favourite club.

As well as being involved in the running of the club before, during and after our Betfred Super League clash, our junior takeover participants will also get the chance to see behind-the-scenes at the MKM Stadium in the build up to the match!

The selected youngsters will get the chance to catch up with members of the first-team and head coach Tony Smith to get their thoughts ahead of the big clash, and take part in our junior board meeting with Chief Executive James Clark the day before the game, to put across their own ideas about the future of the club, as well as receiving their own shirt thanks to main club partners Ecostrad.

The once-in-a-lifetime experience will also see all seven participants take part in our MKM Stadium tour, before pairing up with our staff who run the show behind-the-scenes at the MKM Stadium, with each youngster getting their own unique taste behind the scenes on a matchday.

In addition, our Junior Members Training Session will take place the day before the game on Friday 5th April (from 9.30am), where Junior Members and accompanying adults will be invited to watch the squad’s Captain’s Run at the University of Hull.

Tickets for the match are also on sale now, and you can book yours here ticketing.hullfc.com

How To Apply

To apply, please click here and complete the application form.

Please also provide a contact number for the responsible adult who will accompany the junior on the match day and include three of the junior’s favourite songs – this will help form our special Junior Takeover inspired match day playlist!

The experience is aimed at youngsters aged between 7 and 12 years old.

All applications must be submitted by 11.59pm on Wednesday 27th March, and all applicants must be available on Friday 6th April and Saturday 7th April accompanied by a responsible adult.

Details of each individual role can be found below:

Chairman

Our Junior Chairman and their family will enjoy a delicious five-course meal in the most exclusive suite at the MKM Stadium – The Board Room by invitation of our Chairman Adam Pearson.

They will also get the chance to watch the action from the Directors Box, the best seats in the house on the half way line in the West Stand.

Our junior chairman plays a key role across our hospitality department on game day, greeting and speaking to our sponsors and VIPs in the Circle Restaurant.

Head Coach

Traditionally our most popular Junior Takeover position, our junior head coach will enjoy an unforgettable experience as they shadow head coach Tony Smith.

Catch up with Tony ahead of kick-off to get his thoughts on the afternoon’s action coming up as the Black & Whites look to tame the Giants, before joining the coaching staff on the MKM Stadium turf to help out in the pre-match warm-ups.

They’ll also get the chance to sit with the coaches during the match to get an in-depth look at how the coaches work during the match, before sitting alongside Tony in his post-match press conference in front of members of the media.

Media Manager

Our junior media manager will help out with our digital match coverage; teaming up with the club’s media manager, you’ll produce your own match report for hullfc.com on the match and watch the action from the top of the West Stand in our press box!

The Media Manager will also have the opportunity to meet with the SKY commentators and pundits for some expert tips, and appear on BBC Radio Humberside during their coverage of the match!

You’ll also deliver the team-sheets before the match and chat with Tony Smith after the game to get his thoughts on the match in our post-match interview!

Kit Assistant

There’s plenty more to being a kit assistant than just hanging up the jerseys – you’ll get a special behind the scenes look in the changing rooms at the MKM Stadium, as well as looking after the team’s equipment, balls, water, and maybe print some of the playing jerseys yourself!

The Kit Assistant will help out with the rest of the coaching staff during the pre-match warm ups, and will even run the kicking tee onto the field for conversions during the match!

Photographer

For those who have a passion for photography, this is the role for you! Capture the moment as the match day experience passes you by, with the successful applicant given their own personal camera for the game and a published gallery on the club’s website after the match.

Spend time with the official club photographer and learn new techniques behind the scenes with your camera in hand!

Assistant Referee

Take in the behind-the-scenes experience at the MKM Stadium from a different perspective and join the referees to conduct the coin toss alongside both captains, team sheet handover and walk on the match ball as the teams make their way onto the pitch.

Our junior referee will also hold the interchange cards, warm-up with the referees and even get their own referee jersey to keep!

Pitch Announcer

Our junior pitch announcer will enjoy an unforgettable experience and become the voice of Hull FC for one day only! You’ll read the teams ahead of kick off to the crowd in attendance, as well as announcing our try-scorers during the game!

You’ll enjoy the game from the padded seats with our own pitch announcer and present the Rowe Freight Man of the Match award after the game.
