Female Pathways Manager Pleased With Development

Jack Coates is happy with what he has seen from the Women & Girls teams

Hull FC Female Pathways Manager Jack Coates has been left impressed with the development of the club’s current young crop of players.

All of Hull FC’s female teams enjoyed wins last weekend. The Women defeated Widnes 50-6, whilst the Under 16s and Under 14s Girls defeated Queensbury and Stanningley, respectively.

Even though it was a double game week for both Girls teams, they showed enough quality to come through their respective Yorkshire Cup ties against Hull KR and Methley on Wednesday evening.

As the younger female teams continue to post impressive scores, Jack Coates insists he has been more impressed by the development of the players so far this year.

“This past few weeks and since the start of the season we have seen some fantastic results for our Under 14s Girls, Under 16s Girls and Women,” he told

“But results aren’t always an indication of good development.

“Having said that, of the games I have managed to get to, some of the rugby they’ve played has been outstanding – it’s great to see so many thriving with their development.

“That is definitely the most pleasing aspect and it just shows that we are heading in the right direction.

“I’ve got to give a certain degree of credit to our coaching staff across the various female teams.

“They have fully bought into the female development programme we are looking to implement and they are helping deliver some short-term success, which will hopefully manifest into a longer-term success.

“We want to be able to provide a fun but challenging environment for every player at whatever stage of their rugby development.”

The Women’s team are back in action this weekend as they travel to face Dewsbury Moor Women in West Yorkshire on Sunday (2.00pm kick-off).
