The Black & Whites reached a significant attendance milestone at Sunday’s Round One victory over Castleford Tigers, as 15,383 packed into the MKM Stadium!

A bumper crowd was in attendance to see Tony Smith’s side kick off the 2023 Betfred Super League season with a hard-fought 32-30 victory, with an electric atmosphere in the stands.

Discounting Hull Derby matches, it was the club’s biggest attendance since April 2017 when Hull faced Leeds on Good Friday, almost six years ago, while it was also FC’s biggest attendance at an opening home game since 2005.

Recording the biggest crowd of this season’s opening round and one of the club’s biggest of the last decade, it was a memorable afternoon; Hull ran into an impressive 26-6 lead at the break thanks to an electric first-half effort, before the Tigers fought back in the second-half to make the game a nail-biter until the full-time hooter.

Hull have now only tasted defeat in Round One once in the last ten years!

Hull FC’s Chief Executive, James Clark, said: “It has been a fantastic way to start the season and credit to both sets of supporters that have turned out in great number to deliver a memorable atmosphere.

“It also reflects the hard work that has gone into our membership, ticketing and community engagement campaigns from everyone at our club.

“Today was one of our biggest non-derby crowds over the last decade, whilst our memberships figures are some of the highest in the competition.

“Super League is set for an exciting and defining year, in which we are looking forward to playing our part.”

The Black & Whites are next at home on Saturday 11th March (3.00pm) when they welcome Salford Red Devils to the MKM Stadium – tickets are on sale now online at ticketing.hullfc.com, as well as in store, and over the phone by calling 01482 505600.
