Hull FC will be celebrating their ‘Women In League’ round at Friday’s match against Wakefield Trinity, and throughout the week, we will be celebrating the impact of several women at the club.

Today, we’re featuring Haley Richardson, who currently works as Commercial Accounts Manager at Hull FC.

Haley has worked for the club for 13 years, making her one of the longest-serving members of staff behind the scenes at Hull FC.

She joined in June 2009, initially working front-of-house as a receptionist, during which time she also tutored the Black & Whites’ cheerleading team through her dance qualification.

“I was working in local radio just before I came to Hull FC. I just had a bit of a career change and got involved with some great people at the club,” she said.

“I was working on the reception next to the club shop and out of hours I was doing some dance coaching with the Hull FC Cheerleaders, which I really enjoyed.

“There was a bit of everything working on the reception desk, whether it was helping people book their tickets, getting supporters through to the right people at the club. It always kept me on my toes.”

After almost a decade of fronting up the reception, Haley moved into the club’s commercial department to support Hull’s corporate operation.

“It was in about 2018 that I moved over to the commercial team, where I transferred some of my communication skills from working on the reception to co-operating with sponsors and club partners.

“Most of our partners are Hull FC fans, so it makes working with them plenty of fun.

“Sometimes you take for granted working for a rugby league club, particularly in busy periods, but it’s important to reflect on how lucky I am to work for a club like Hull FC.”
