Brett Hodgson has named a youthful 19-man squad ahead of Sunday’s pre-season friendly against Bradford Bulls, brought to you in association with Jadan Press.

The Black & Whites’ first outing of 2022 will see them head to Odsal Stadium for Danny Brough’s testimonial fixture, with Hodgson using the fixture as an opportunity to hand game time to some younger member of the squad, as well as some Academy and Reserves players.

Senior figures Ligi Sao, Brad Fash, Jordan Johnstone, Cameron Scott, and Jamie Shaul are all named, as well as Marcus Walker and Aidan Burrell who have made the step-up to the first-team environment on a full-time basis for 2022.

Elsewhere, the 19-man squad is made up of representatives from across the club’s Academy and Reserves sides, as well as members of the Rising Stars group – youngsters who train with the senior squad. on the cusp of breaking into the first team.

Familiar names include young full-back Davy Litten, while quartet Charlie Severs, Zach Jebson, Nick Staveley and Callum Rutland will all feature having been promoted to the Rising Stars group for 2022.

17 of the 19 players named in the squad have all come through the Black & Whites’ development system.
