Hull FC head coach Brett Hodgson has named a 24-man squad ahead of Thursday’s friendly clash against York City Knights, brought to you in association with Jadan Press.

The Black & Whites will take on the Betfred Championship side later this week as they enter the final stretch of pre-season, ahead of the start of the Betfred Super League campaign in less than three weeks time.

The visit to the LNER Community Stadium, which will be the first Rugby League match to take place at the new ground, will be Hodgson’s first game in charge of the Airlie Birds as head coach, and has named a strong squad to take on the Knights.

New recruit Josh Reynolds is set to make his first appearance in a Black & White jersey having joined the club in the off-season.

Trialist centre Mitieli Vulikijapani has also been named in the squad and will feature, alongside young academy half-back Jacob Hookem, who is one of a number of academy players who have been training with the first-team squad in pre-season.

Star names including Jake Connor, Carlos Tuimavave, and Manu Ma’u are all set to feature.

Newly-named captains Danny Houghton and Marc Sneyd will both feature, while fellow co-captain Scott Taylor misses out with a minor injury.

Fellow first-teamers Jordan Johnstone and Masi Matongo also miss out, however the trio are expected to be fit for the Round One clash against Huddersfield Giants on March 28th.

The game will be streamed live on the OurLeague app, with 2021 members able to watch the match for free with the access code sent to them via email. For more information about OurLeague streaming – click here
