Every Monday during the COVID-19 pandemic, we will be featuring some of our Hull FC Key-Worker Heroes – supporters working on the front-line to keep the country running, nominated by you!

Hannah Daddy (Nominated by friend Lauren Roe)

“My best friend and work colleague, Hannah Daddy is a massive Hull FC supporter and is currently still working as a primary school teacher. She’s amazing at her job and all the children absolutely love her.

“She’s working both at work and from home to make sure the children who are learning from home are able to access videos to help them along!

“I just wanted to let her know she’s doing a fab job, as she always does!”

Maria Willingham (Nominated by sister Laura Willingham)

“My key worker hero is my sister, Maria Willingham. She works at Co-op in Leeds and lives in her university house. So we’ve not been able to see her during this lockdown living in Patrington.

“She’s been at work six days a week most weeks and was even working on her 21st birthday on the 1st of May!

“She’s gone into work on most of her days off to help out and keep it going. I wish I could see her and hug her because she’s been so strong and kept us all going.”

Ellie-Mae Ardington (Nominated by Connor Lee)

“As everyone is aware, shopping is a massive thing at the minute from the queues of customers outside to shelves being empty.

“Even with all that is going on, Ellie still goes about her work day as normal even though it’s frustrating having to travel from East Hull to Hessle on limited bus services.”

Val Neal (Nominated by daughter Lynnette Neal)

“My mum is a Unit Manger at a Residential Car Home in the city. They took the decision before lockdown to close the home to visitors and because of this have not lost one resident off her unit to COVID 19.

“Her and her colleagues have been on a wave of emotions. My Mum was torn as to what to do what was best for her family as she did not want to any of her loved ones to catch the illness and likewise with her residents.

“My Mum has not only worked her normal shift pattern but also helped when short staffed due to illness. She encourages her residents and team to laugh whilst she is on shift to pass the time for them all.”

Karen Jordan (Nominated by sister Lynnette Neal)

“Karen is a senior nurse who works in the community around Beverley and the surrounding areas. Karen has a young family but that has not stopped her making sure she and all her colleagues are protected as much as they can be in these challenging times whilst making sure all patients are attended to and treated accordingly.

“Her and her team have all helped each other with help and support. When the adequate PPE recently arrived in to the department, Karen took it upon herself to create PPE packs for her team to ensure they all had the right PPE for each patient they visited. She created over 400 PPE packs in her own time.

“Her work has never faulted and her priority is always her patients.”

Yasmin Webs Dale (Nominated by Lynnette Neal)

Yasmin is an Occupational Therapy Assistant at Castle Hill. She has witnessed the impact of Coronavirus first hand at the hospital.

“She had to move off the ward she normally worked on and was set up on a make shift ward. Throughout all this Yasmin has gone to work everyday and continues her patients rehabilitation in a much limited environment.”

Adam Dykes (Nominated by wife Chelsea Dykes)

“Adam is a funeral director and does an amazing job and doesn’t get an recognition for the brilliant work he does.

“He goes above and beyond for families who have lost loved ones. He is a major Hull FC supporter and this would really make him smile as some days can be challenging.

“I just wanted to let him know that his wife and little girl are so very proud of him!”
