The Hull FC Community Foundation is delighted to announce that it will be running a whole host of free-to-attend camps throughout the Easter half-term holidays!

The Community Foundation have once again received funding for the camps from Hull City Council through the Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme – a scheme funded by the Government and delivered by local councils across the summer, providing healthy food and fun activities to children and young people, with free meals available for those on free school meals.

Previously, these camps have engaged with thousands of school children in the local area. There are now forecasted to be another huge amount of youngsters set to benefit from the Community Foundation’s engaging activities during the two-week holiday break.

The camps, which are available to those children across the city who receive free school meals, are also part of the Black and Whites’ ongoing commitment to helping grow rugby league and develop players for the future, running alongside a host of projects and programmes to engage with, educate and inspire local juniors.

Camps will vary from community club rugby league sessions, dance and cheerleading, multi-sport camps, and Energise Club camps.

These camps are an exciting opportunity to learn and develop skills like meeting new friends, alongside a nutritious meal each day, while taking part in engaging and enriching activities which support the development of resilience, character and wellbeing along with their wider educational attainment.

Most significantly, the camps are free for young children to attend, meaning sessions are accessible for all young children across the city, with various sessions for various age groups.

Children who are in receipt of free school meals will also be eligible for a free meal when taking part in the various sessions, as we encourage young people to eat healthily over the holidays, while also developing an understanding of nutrition and food budgeting for families.

The first set of camps are available to book now by clicking here, with more camps to be announced in due course.
