Get to know one of our new main partners, Timber Angel

Club News

Ahead of the launch of Hull FC’s third jersey later this evening, hullfc.com takes a closer look at Timber Angel, who will, for the first time, take pride of place on the front of the shirt!

The company, which is based in the city, has ambitions to branch out to the nation and it is looking to use Hull FC as a key foundation in helping the business achieve that.

Timber Angel’s partnership with the Black & Whites only came about earlier in 2022, when they sponsored the MKM Stadium’s Family Zone, before taking sponsorship rights to the club’s Hull&Proud Week.

Just last week, Timber Angel were announced as one of Hull FC’s main partners for the 2023 season, with the company logo featuring on the back of the jersey.

But for Hull’s third shirt, the Timber Angel logo will adorn the front of the jersey.

So ahead of the launch of the third shirt this evening, hullfc.com caught up with Timber Angel Managing Director Kieron Evans…

Can you tell us a little bit about what the company does?

Timber Angel is a forward-thinking timber merchant. We have a site in Willerby, which is more of a showroom with garden buildings, hot tubs and DIY equipment. We also have a timber merchant site down Clough Road in Hull, taking up 18,500 square feet of land.

You mentioned about being a forward-thinking company. What is it that makes you different?

I think the main selling point for a lot of our clients is that our timber is stored inside. We appreciate that it needs to be looked after in a certain way. A lot of our staff have also been recruited from other merchants and we have plenty of experience. For me personally, I have been in the industry for 18 years.

You’ve supported the club in recent times, but what prompted the decision to come onto the front of the third shirt?

I think it’s massive for the company, especially given that the third shirt will be worn at the Magic Weekend, which is a massive occasion in itself! It’s great for our business and there’s only one true team in Hull so it made sense!

We are a Hull based company, and we’re looking to branch out to a wider market and I think that the partnership will help us do that.
