Brett Hodgson explained his delight at how his side has turned around their form over the course of the last three weeks, with yesterday’s victory over Toulouse seeing the Black & Whites make it three wins in a row.

FC are now undefeated in their last five home games thanks to a comprehensive 48-12 win over the French outfit.

Speaking after the game, Hodgson said: “I’m very pleased, it was a very professional performance.

“There are elements that we can be better at but we did enough for a positive performance. Toulouse had a good go in that opening quarter of the game and we knew that they would come here to do that as they’re a very physical team. There’ll be a few sore bodies on both sides.

“It was difficult to get up and ready for this one because of the busy schedule over the last few weeks, but we set our targets ahead of this spell and the way we have responded from defeat on Good Friday was really pleasing.

“There’s a good vibe in the camp – the boys are bouncing after that one and deservedly so. They’ve worked hard for that one.”

And Hodgson heaped praise on his star performers, including hat-trick heroes Connor Wynne and Darnell McIntosh.

Connor took his opportunity with both hands. Darnell was very strong, and Ligi Sao was absolutely unbelievable.

“We’ve got a really tight group and they’re really enjoying their footy at the moment – we’re heading in the right direction.”

Looking ahead to the next few weeks, he added: “We’ll have a bit of time off now with some time to refresh ahead of a big couple of games against St Helens and Wigan.

“We’ll have three days at the back end of next week in training and then we’ll be into prep mode.”
