A new Hull FC Community Foundation project is seeing local businesses donate money with every try scored by the Black & Whites!

‘Try For Change’ supports the Community Foundation’s mission to ‘change lives through Rugby League’.

With every try scored by Hull FC in the Betfred Super League and the Betfred Challenge Cup, each partner of the ‘Try For Change’ project will make a small donation to the Hull FC Community Foundation, which will go towards meeting the costs of our disability projects, helping provide more equal opportunities for all abilities.

Based on the 2021 season, partners would have paid £395 based on the 79 tries scored by the Airlie Birds throughout the season.

It has already been a promising start to the season for the Black & Whites, stacking up a total of 39 tries in both competitions so far this season!

Established in 2006, our Community Foundation uses the power of sport and strong local influence of the professional side to make the biggest difference possible in the community through the delivery of needs led projects targeting four agendas: Sports and Physical Activity, Education and Employability, Health and Wellbeing, and Social Inclusion. All projects are underpinned by our values of Challenge, Compassion, Determination, Honesty, and Respect.

Annually, 15,000 people engage in our programmes across the Hull and East Yorkshire region. This ranges from mass participation events within schools to focus one to one support with people going through crisis. All activities are led by a passionate, hard-working team comprising fourteen professionally qualified coaches and tutors.

By joining our ‘Try For Change’ programme, local businesses will be actively supporting the Community Foundation and its core values.

Not only that, but participating businesses receive tickets to a ‘Try For Change’ launch event at a Betfred Super League fixture, their company name on the big screen at the MKM Stadium, presence on the Community Foundation’s website, and most importantly, the pride and satisfaction of knowing that by becoming a partner – they have changed someone’s life for the better.

If you have a local business and would like to get on board with our ‘Try For Change’ project, then please email james.price@hullfc.com for more information on how to join.
