Seven Lucky Youngsters Enjoy Memorable Junior Takeover

A look back on this year’s Junior Takeover!

Club News

Seven lucky junior members got the chance to enjoy a once in a lifetime experience with the Black & Whites at Sunday’s fixture against Huddersfield Giants as part of our annual Junior Takeover event!

The young fans got a hands-on behind-the-scenes look at how the club is run on a match day, and helped the club’s staff keep everything ticking over, while on the field, Brett Hodgson’s side ran out as 14-6 victors over Huddersfield.

Meanwhile on Saturday, participants got the chance to spend some time with the first-team squad ahead of the game by attending Captain’s Run at Hull University, before sitting down with Chief Executive James Clark and Captain Luke Gale for our Junior Board Meeting.

Here’s what our Junior Takeover participants got up to on Sunday…

Kit assistant Esme Elm helped set up the dressing room ahead of kick off, as well as getting the chance to print her own jersey, before running on the kicking tee for Ben McNamara during the game.

Assistant referee Jack Gowan spent the day alongside Liam Moore and his team of officials, completing the pre-match coin toss and looking after the interchange cards while the match was in play.

Head coach Kieron Bell got the chance to get Brett Hodgson’s pre-match thoughts ahead of the game and talk tactics, before sitting with the coaches during the game and attending the post-match press conference.

Photographer Megan Bulman paired up with our official club photographer and got to enjoy the action from the sidelines while capturing all of the action.

Chairman Robbie Hemmings enjoyed the VIP treatment by accompanying Club Directors in the Circle Restaurant ahead of the match, meeting guests and sponsors, before enjoying the action from the directors box.

Media Manager Jack Dixon welcomed members of the press to the MKM Stadium, before delivering the team sheets around the ground, writing his own match report during the game, and getting the chance to go live on air with Hull FC Live and BBC Radio Humberside, before interviewing Brett Hodgson after the game.

And pitch announcer Elsa Rollinson helped read the teams, and our try-scorers throughout the match to the MKM Stadium crowd.

The seven lucky juniors topped off a memorable day by joining the players in the changing rooms after the win to sing Old Faithful!
