Hull FC finally secured back to back wins with victory against the Huddersfield Giants at the MKM Stadium.

Although it was a hard fought game, Hull’s impressive defence helped them to achieve a 14-6 victory.

Manu Mau returned from injury, along with Jordan Lane and Connor Wynne.

Joe Cator and Jamie Shaul drop out through injury and Kane Evans through suspension.

The Match

After a scrappy start to the game with both teams making mistakes, Hull opened the scoring with a try from Mitchi Vulikijapani after a nice kick-through from Jake Connor and a conversion followed from Ben McNamara.

Some great Hull defence kept Huddersfield out, but FC failed to take their chances and probably should have been further ahead at half-time.

Half-Time: Hull FC 6-0 Huddersfield Giants

The second half didn’t start well for the Black and Whites and they found themselves under pressure again, but their defence held out.

Ben McNamara slotted over a penalty goal and Hull followed it up to score after a kick through from Joe Lovodua, resulting in a try for Andre Savelio.

Hull seemed to be taking  control and a frustrated Huddersfield Giants went down to 12 men after Will Pryce was shown a red card for a dangerous lift on Connor Wynne.

The game was not over though and Chris McQueen crashed over for what turned out to be Huddersfield’s only try of the game.

The Black and Whites held onto their lead, mainly thanks to a determined defensive display, and hopefully will  take their good recent form into their upcoming Challenge Cup game against Sheffield Eagles.
