Jack Logan has discusses his dream try-scoring return for the Black & Whites, as he touched down on his first appearance back at the MKM Stadium last night.

Logan scored one of the Airlie Birds’ second-half tries as they claimed a spirited 17-10 victory over Huddersfield Giants, having rejoined the club on loan from Batley Bulldogs earlier this week.

Over 18 months on since his last appearance for FC, the boyhood Hull fan came into a depleted squad for Brett Hodgson, with the hosts having 14 players unavailable on the night.

Speaking after the match, Logan said: “It was a great feeling to get back out there in Black & White, and such a good feeling to see all the old faces around the place. It’s such a great venue, and having fans back in behind is such a superb feeling.

“I’m really happy to have gotten eighty minutes under my belt; it’s a different game to what I’m used to now.

“Having not played for over a year because of Covid-19 last season, and playing down at Batley so far in 2021, I’m not used to the speed of top level game.

“I’m loving it down at Batley, it’s a great club but Super League is a different level to the Championship, with more speed being the main difference .”

He added: “I have a lot of good mates here still, and they gave me the lowdown on how fast the game is now before the match – it’s fair to say I was cramping up in the last five minutes!”

Reflecting on his first try for the club since September 2019, he continued: “I was kicking myself because of my earlier mistake ten minutes into the game – as a centre, that sort of stuff is your bread and butter.

“But I tried not to dwell on it too much, and got the chance to make up for it, collecting a pearl of a kick from Sneydy.

“I love that sort of try; it shows your commitment getting higher than anyone else, and outmuscling anyone in your way, and taking that ball with your fingertips.”
