Centre of Excellence News

Danny Wilson has named a 20-man squad to face Newcastle Thunder U19s tomorrow, brought to you in association with G&J Staffing.

Hull’s youngsters will once again run out on their new University of Hull home ground, looking to make it back-to-back wins after last week’s comprehensive victory over Bradford Bulls U19s.

Meanwhile, Thunder were edged 18-10 by Wakefield Trinity U19s at Kingston Park last Saturday, showing better defensive resilience after a heavy defeat to Warrington’s youngsters the week prior.

Wilson has made four changes to his squad for what promises to be an entertaining game of rugby league.

Ben McNamara, who has featured in three Betfred Super League fixtures for the Black & Whites this season, is included in Wilson’s squad to face the North East side.

Forward Leon Watkinson and outside back Lewis Martin have both earned their first call ups of the 2021 season, whilst Fijian front-rower Junior Mafi will be hoping for his first action on the field for the academy this year.

Nick Staveley and Kai Tyson both drop out of this week’s squad through injury.
