It’s Members Monday, and for the next few weeks, we will be shining the spotlight on some of the members of staff keeping the club running behind-the-scenes during the COVID-19 pandemic.

A small but hard-working team of staff are currently doing their bit to keep the club running as smoothly as possible while no games are taking place, including our Hull FC Women’s head coach Sam French.

While Sam continues to lead training sessions via Zoom for his Women’s Championship side, he is also a key member of the Hull FC Community Foundation team, and one of a handful of staff working to support the local community during the ongoing crisis.

Every day, with next to no teaching staff available, Sam is working with some of the club’s Partner Primary Schools to support them while they care for key worker’s children. This features leading PE sessions with a focus on activities which encourage social distancing.

Speaking to hullfc.com, French said “This helps us keep our relationship strong with our Partner Primary Schools, and offers a helping hand when they’re struggling for staff.

“It could have been easy for us to have pulled away from doing this work, but we still have staff like myself who can offer a helping hand and ultimately assist our key workers by looking after their children.”
