Ahead of this weekend’s Virtual Double-Header with Castleford Tigers raising money for the NHS and the club’s Foundations, hullfc.com takes a look back at five memorable home clashes against Castleford Tigers.

2013: Hull FC 52-0 Castleford

Joe Arundel and Tom Lineham scored hat-tricks as Hull picked up a comprehensive early season victory over the Tigers back in 2013.

Scoring nine tries with Danny Houghton, Richard Horne and Josh Bowden also getting in on the action, Hull dominated the contest throughout.

As well as being a fine attacking display, Hull put in one of their best defensive performances of the season to keep the visitors scoreless.

2014: Hull FC 18-18 Castleford

Marc Sneyd was still a Castleford player when the two sides battled out a tightly fought 18-18 draw back in 2015 before the influential half-back made the move to East Yorkshire the following season.

But with Hull leading 18-4 going into the closing stages, three tries in 13 minutes from the Tigers earned them a dramatic draw.

Hull led through Talanoa, Abdull and Rankin all crossing the try-line, but the Tigers fought back featuring a brace from James Clare. Sneyd had the chance to win the contest with his touchline conversion, but slotted the ball wide of the posts.

2015: Hull FC 40-14 Castleford

Curtis Naughton scored a hat-trick as an impressive Hull FC outfit progressed into the Challenge Cup Quarter-Finals with a 40-14 win over Castleford.

The young back, only making his fourth appearance for the club, grabbed his opportunity with both hands crossing the whitewash three times in the contest.

Leading 16-4 at the break, scores from James Clare and Mike McMeeken gave the Tigers a chance in the contest, but the Black & Whites ran away with the scoreline as Jordan Rankin also bagged a brace in the game.

2015: Hull FC 21-18 Castleford

FC came from behind at half-time to strengthen their spot in the top eight, with a narrow 21-18 Super League win over the Tigers in 2015.

Brad Fash came off the bench to make his club debut and had an impressive impact on the game.

A brace from Denny Solomona and a score from Luke Dorn cancelled out Richard Whiting’s first-half score as Castleford led 14-6 at the break.

Hull though found another gear after the break, and a brace from Tom Lineham combined with an impressive score from Jordan Abdull secured an unlikely win.

2017: Hull FC 32-24 Castleford

In another thrilling Challenge Cup contest between the two Yorkshire rivals at the KCOM Stadium, two years after the last, Hull booked their place in the semi-finals over competition favourites Castleford.

The holders again quickly ran into the lead against the Tigers, with Carlos Tuimavave going the full-length to score before wing partner Fetuli Talanoa muscles his way over.

But just like they did two year previous, the visitors his back with Ben Roberts and Zak Hardaker touching down.

Jake Connor’s boot kept Hull in control with several penalty goals, but Roberts touched down once more to keep the pressure on.

But two quick-fore tries from Mahe Fonua and a sensational team effort finished by Jamie Shaul saw Hull into the semi-finals setting up a mouth-watering tie against Leeds in Doncaster.
