Tex Hoy joined Hull FC from NRL side Newcastle Knights ahead of the 2023 Super League season, joining the club with one of his former Newcastle team mates, Jake Clifford.

Having only made his NRL debut in 2020, Hoy made a quick impression at the Knights, where he was coached by former Black & Whites forward Mark O’Meley.

Hoy, who is a confident goal-kicker, can play in the halves, but he operates chiefly as a fullback.

Blessed with pace, Hoy is a real threat out of the back when playing in the fullback role. But he also has plenty of strength to fend off any oncoming defenders.
