Young centre Kieran Buchanan was rewarded for his successes with the City of Hull Academy squad during 2018 with his first professional contract with the Black & Whites.
The ex-Skirlaugh Bulls youth worked his way through the Hull FC Scholarship before joining up with the City of Hull 19s and scoring 11 tries throughout the 2017 Under 19’s campaign.
Buchanan is likely to be a ley feature for the Hull FC reserve side in 2019 as he pushes himself to make his first competitive appearance for the Airlie Birds – he first featured for the reserves against Halifax in 2017, taking to the field alongside former captain Gareth Ellis.
The centre has pace to burn and strength to boast, whilst also being able to work hard defensively. Buchanan was rewarded by Lee Radford for his efforts in pre-season in 2018 as he handed the third-year back a debut in the friendly against Hull Kingston Rovers.
