Brett Hodgson says Hull FC were too “disjointed” in their 4-0 defeat to Warrington Wolves last night.
Two penalty goals separated the two sides in a low-scoring affair at the Halliwell Jones Stadium, with Hull lacking guile on a disappointing night in Cheshire.
Having lost captain Luke Gale to what Hodgson has described as a nasty head injury after a quarter of the game, the head coach believes a disjointed attacking performance was one of the key reason the Black & Whites came home with nothing.
“You could see that we were very disjointed, and some individuals’ efforts and attention to detail on plays just wasn’t where it needed to be,” he said.
“Any team that loses their halfback would struggle. We had a young halfback in there on his second game with Joe Lovodua in the halves.
“We lacked attacking threat across the park and we need to continue to work hard in the week to address that.”
Both Gale and his fellow team mate Adam Swift had their evenings cut short in the first-half, with the pair being taken to a nearby hospital.
“Luke isn’t in a good way,” Hodgson said.
“He’s gone to hospital for checks, but hopefully he’ll be okay.”
“Adam Swift looks like he might have broken his leg so he’s gone to hospital as well.”
