Jeylan Hodgson joined Hull FC as a youth player in 2023, signing an Academy contract after returning from playing Rugby League in Australia.

The hooker is well connected to some big names in Rugby League, as he is the nephew of NRL star Josh Hodgson, and the brother of Bailey Hodgson.

Although he was born in Hull, Hodgson moved to Australia with his family and played his junior Rugby League for Newcastle South’s Merewether Lions whilst his brother came through the system at Newcastle Knights.

He played through the 2023 Academy season, helping Hull’s Under 18s reach the play-off semi-finals, before he became a member of the first-team squad ahead of the 2024 campaign.
