Simon Grix arrived at the MKM Stadium ahead of the 2024 Betfred Super League campaign after five years at the helm at Halifax Panthers, his hometown club.

As Head Coach of the West Yorkshire outfit, Grix took the Panthers to the Challenge Cup semi-finals in 2019 – the first Championship side to reach that stage of the competition since 2006. He also led Fax to Wembley success in the AB Sundecks 1895 Cup, beating Batley 12-10 at the national stadium in 2023.

A former player, Grix arrived at Hull in late 2023 to work under his former Head Coach at Warrington Wolves, Tony Smith.

A vocal character on the training field and with a passion for youth progress, he is instrumental in the development of the club’s playing squad.
