After he retired from playing for good at the end of the 2020 season, Ellis took an Assistant Coach role with Hull FC ahead of the 2021 campaign.

The Black & Whites’ back-to-back winning captain originally joined the Hull FC coaching staff at the end of the 2017 season after five successful seasons on the field, in which he made 99 appearances.

Ellis took on an administrative role off the field, before coming out of retirement in 2019 to help the squad during an injury crisis.

A former Great Britain and England international, with Grand Final victories with Leeds Rhinos under his belt, Ellis was also named RLIF Team of the Year in 2008 and 2009.
