Lance Todd Trophy winner Marc Sneyd became the first player to win the award on back-to-back outright occasions in 2017.
After two majestic cup final performances, many could argue that the scrum-half is the most influential player in a Challenge Cup final without scoring in either of the 2016 and 2017 finals.
His kicking game is a key attribute, with his accurate kicks to the corner often on a plate for his outside backs.
Signed from Salford Red Devils ahead of 2015, Sneyd joined the Black and Whites after a terrific year on loan at Castleford Tigers.
He has an unusual, but unquestionably effective goal kicking style, which has warranted him the Super League Top Gun award in 2016 and 2017 with the highest goal kicking ratio.
