Paul Prendiville was an instant hit when he played as a trialist in the pre-season Eva Hardaker Memorial Trophy match against Hull KR on 6th August 1978, giving a good all round full-back display and kicking five goals. He was subsequently signed and became a regular after his competitive debut eight weeks later.

Paul was not a big man but his drive and enthusiasm made him a Boulevard crowd favourite. He soon found his niche on the wing, developing into a very capable finisher and ended the season as the club’s leading try-scorer with 25.

He was another who played throughout the successful 1980’s, and in all played in eight finals and claimed winners medals in the, Challenge Cup, John Player Trophy and Yorkshire Cup in 1982, as well as the R.L. Championship in 1982-83, a season in which he made 41 appearances and scored 16 tries and 30 goals towards the effort.

Although a regular selection for Wales, test match rugby eluded him and his sole appearance for Great Britain was in a friendly International against France in Venice in 1982.
