Hull FC Reserves scored twelve tries in a dominant 60-6 victory over Salford Red Devils Reserves at the University of Hull.
Joe Ward, Lennon Clark, Will Kirby and Charlie Robson all scored braces as the Black & Whites showed their clinical edge in their biggest win of the season so far.
Also on the scoresheet were Joe Thompson, Logan Moy, Jack Charles and Elliot Middlemas – before handbags late on in the game saw four players sent off.
The Match
It was relatively even stevens inside the opening ten minutes, but once Salford made their first error of the evening, Hull were in a merciless mood, with Ward finishing a slick scrum play in the right corner.
The winger made it a double five minutes later, collecting a looping Jack Charles pass and evading three tacklers to finish in the same corner.
Salford’s discipline waned and Hull’s punishing mood didn’t relent. Early ball from Thompson to Clark saw the centre bump and spin off the contact, getting low to score the try.
Hull were temporarily reduced to twelve men when Yusuf Aydin was sin-binned for catching a defender with his elbow in a tackle accidently, but Thompson still found space to put a big step on to glide through the defensive line and score FC’s fourth try of the evening.
Four tries became five less than two minutes later. Sam Eseh was afforded too much space at first-receiver and he poked his head through and offloaded to Kirby, wrestling free of the fullback’s tackle attempt to score.
And Hull rounded off their late first-half flourish with Moy getting over to score, receiving Ben Johnson’s outstanding flicked offload and dotting down.

Hull began the second-half as they finished the first, with Charles supporting Will Hutchinson’s dart out of dummy-half to score under the posts.
A delicate short pass from Thompson put Kirby through a hole, but he unselfishly passed to Clark as Hull went in for their eighth try of the match.
Shifting the ball out to the left hand side, Hull opened up the Red Devils’ defence with ease once more – Clark’s delayed pass enabled trialist Robson to race in from 40 metres out.
It took the visitors just under an hour to enjoy their first spell of possession in Hull FC territory, forcing an error and a drop-out, but the hosts’ defence held firm.
Once back at the other end of the field, Hull scored again. Both Robson and Johnson somehow missed Thompson’s delicate kick in an aerial dual with the Salford winger, but the bounce of the ball favoured the Black & Whites and Kirby was able to dot down with ease.
Despite their lack of possession in Hull’s half, the Red Devils did manage to register a solitary try as Charlie McCurrie barged over the whitewash.
But there was still time for Hull to score another two tries. Elliot Middlemas featured in a late cameo role, scoring in the right corner, before Robson cut inside to finish a nice move for his second try.
The two sides came to blows after Denive Balmforth was tackled off the ball late in the game, and four red cards were issued by the referee – two for each team.
