It’s currently the Week of Social Impact with the recent launch of the RFL Community Trust, and one particular area in which we are making a difference is employability skills.
The Hull FC Community Foundation runs several programmes designed to enhance the employability status of young learners. One of those programmes, which has now come to an end, is ‘Step Into Employment’.
The programme supported individuals and groups facing the most complex barriers to work.
Recent figures show that four learners have progressed into employment as a result of taking part in the Step Into Employment programme.
In addition, as many as 24 learners have progressed onto further education courses, furthering their employability status. 14 have progressed onto a Level 2 course, whilst the other ten have now moved into a volunteering role.
Through the Step Into Employment programme, a total of 75 qualifications were achieved, with some learners staying with the Community Foundation to study more than a singular course.
But there are more employability programmes run by the Community Foundation, striving to make a difference for young adults.
Through the Adult Skills Programme, the Community Foundation will run a Level 2 course in Improving Personal Exercise, Health & Nutrition. This will run from November until January.
Learners will gain knowledge and understanding of the positive effects of exercise on long-term health and well-being and implementing an exercise plan with the appropriate nutritional requirements.
You can register your place on the course here.
Also, those aged 16+ living in the local area can complete a volunteering course through the Hull FC Community Foundation, with access to improving your confidence, job interview support, and help to enhance your skills and CV.
