The Hull FC Community Foundation is offering the opportunity for adult learners (19+) to enhance their employability skills by providing recognised vocational qualifications in Wellbeing, Retail, and Volunteering, plus a new Stress Awareness course.
The Adult Skills Programme is a free and unique programme designed to support jobseekers across the Hull in finding work by raising skills and confidence, while assisting learners throughout the application to work process.
Each session involves a range of classroom and practical activities delivered by highly qualified tutors.
Learners will be given the opportunity to progress on to a range of Hull FC programmes, depending on your goals.
Delivered from the Hull FC facilities and the Foundation’s outreach sites across Hull, the programme has helped more than one in three learners find a job during or within six weeks of finishing the course with local businesses.

NCFE Level 1 Award in Stress Awareness (19+)
Dates: Wednesday 30th October, Thursday 31st October and Friday 1st November 2024 (10am-3pm, all dates must be attended)
This qualification aims to improve learners’ understanding of stress. You will look at the causes of stress and the effects stress can have on health. You will also learn to recognise the signs and symptoms of stress and look at ways of preventing or reducing stress. Candidates must be 19 to undertake this qualification.

NCFE Level 1 Certificate in Wellbeing (19+)
Start Date: Monday 23rd September (5 week programme, Monday to Wednesday, 10am-3pm)
This qualification aims to develop the learner’s understanding of a variety of well-being topics and the impact they can have, and knowledge of a variety of topics relating to personal well-being.
The objectives of this qualification are to help learners to understand the impact lifestyle choices can have, make informed, healthy choices.
This qualification is designed for learners with an interest in developing knowledge of their own and others’ well-being. This qualification provides learners with a range of flexible units to suit their individual circumstances and interests.

NCFE Level 1 Award in Volunteering
Dates: Tuesday 29th October to Thursday 31st October (1 week programme)
This qualification course will guide you through an introduction to the benefits of volunteering, volunteering organisations and local opportunities.
It will also help you to evaluate and match your skills to the requirements of specific volunteering roles, to understand the regulations and boundaries of being a volunteer and to take part in some exciting volunteering projects.

Start Date: Thursday 26th September (5 week programme – Thursday and Friday, 10am-3pm)
This qualification aims to provide an introduction to the retail industry to those new to, or seeking employment in this area help learners develop an understanding of the different aspects of working in the retail sector.
