The Hull FC Community Foundation have launched a series of Festive Camps in the run up to Christmas Day!
18 camps will take place between 20th and 23rd December, with the camps forms part of the Government’s Holiday Activity & Food Programme, which has provided healthy food and enriching activities to a small proportion of disadvantaged children since 2018.
The project has been expanded across the whole of England in 2021 to encourage children’s return to active lifestyles as the country begins to recover from the Covid-19 pandemic.
This funding is provided to local authorities to coordinate free holiday provision, including healthy food and enriching activities for children.
The Hull FC Community Foundation has been identified as a key strategic partner and will work with Hull City Council and other partners s to provide programmes of coordinated activities to support families and enable children to have fun and stay active while away from the classroom in the run up to Christmas.
It’s not the first time the Foundation have been involved in the project, having delivered over 800 hours of camps during the summer holidays to over 1,200 youngsters.
The camps are also part of the Black and Whites’ ongoing commitment to helping grow rugby league and develop players for the future, running alongside a host of projects and programmes to engage with, educate and inspire local juniors.
Camps will vary from Rugby League, to multi-sports, to girls rugby, and dance, taking place at the Hull FC Centre of Excellence and at Hull University, all taking place between 10am and 2pm.
Most significantly, the camps are free for all young children to attend, meaning sessions are accessible for all young children across the city, with various sessions for various age groups.
