Andre Savelio has extended his stay at Hull FC until the end of the 2023 season, penning a two-year contract extension with the club!

Savelio has scored 11 tries in 38 games for the Black & Whites and his impressive form earlier this year earned him a call-up to the Combined Nations All Stars team which beat England in June.

After an injury hit debut season in 2019, the 26-year-old played a key role in helping Hull reach last season’s Betfred Super League play-off semi-finals.

The back-rower has earned a starting spot in 2021, scoring five tries in the process, and he is eager to progress even further with the Black & Whites.

Speaking on the decision to extend his stay with the club, Savelio said: “I’m absolutely buzzing to be staying at Hull for another two years.”

“Since I arrived here early in 2019, I’ve been made to feel very welcome by everyone and the club and I feel really settled in Hull.

“We have made a Challenge Cup semi-final and a play-off semi-final in my time here so far, but I feel like we still have a lot more to give, so I’m looking forward to knuckling down and going again next year.”

Savelio is the latest forward to commit his future to the club, alongside Player of the Year Chris Satae and new signing Joe Lovodua.

Hull FC head coach Brett Hodgson is eager to see the back rower show is best form in 2022.

“We’ve seen Andre show his true potential at stages throughout the season, and when he plays well, the team tends to play well,” he said.

“He is a talented English forward whose best years are ahead of him. He knows what he needs to work on to improve and find consistency in his game and we’re keen to help him develop over the next couple of years.”

He added, “In players like Andre, Manu Ma’u, Jordan Lane and Joe Cator, plus Joey Lovodua who can jump in there too we’ve got some good options across our back row.”
