In-form Hull FC forward Brad Fash has signed a two-year contract extension, on the eve of his 100th appearance for the Black & Whites!

The 25-year-old, who will join the 100 club if he plays against Leeds on Thursday, will remain with his hometown club until at least the end of the 2023 Betfred Super League campaign.

The Hull-born prop is in career-best form in 2021, excelling under new head coach Brett Hodgson as one of the squad’s most consistent performers on a weekly basis, having missed just one game throughout the entire campaign so far.

After coming through the Airlie Birds’ youth ranks, the former West Hull junior broke onto the professional scene back in 2015, with the former England Knights man now finding himself as the squad’s fifth longer-serving player.

Fash will be aiming to continue his impressive form over the next two years, with his new deal taking him towards his eighth and ninth seasons with the club in 2022 and 2023.

Fash is the latest player to commit his future to the club, with fellow in-form stars Adam Swift and Chris Satae also being rewarded for a string of eye-catching performances this season, helping the Black & Whites into a promising position in the Betfred Super League table as the business end of the season approaches.

Speaking to hullfc.com, Fash said: “I’m really happy to have committed my future to the club – this gives me a great chance to continue moving forward with my game and secure my spot within the squad on a week to week basis for the foreseeable future,

“This now gives me the chance to keep my full focus on my on-field performances, which is the most important aspect of being a rugby league player.

He added: “I understand what my job is in the team right now, and Brett has been a great help in allowing me to develop my game over the past nine months.”

Fash also commented on his pride to be marking a century of Hull FC appearances against Leeds at the MKM Stadium on Thursday.

“It’s not something you expect to happen when you’re just a young kid and just playing junior rugby for your local amateur club – probably something you can only dream about.

“But as time goes on, and you get closer and closer to these landmarks, you get really excited to reach that milestone, and I’ve got a real sense of pride to be making my 100th appearance, especially for my hometown club.”

Hull FC head coach Brett Hodgson added: “Brad has shown tremendous consistency in his performances this season and is a trusted and valued member of our squad.

“He leads with his actions both on and off the field, and I’m looking forward to seeing how he continues to improve within our system.

“We love the fact that Brad is also Hull born and bred, something we will continue invest in and nourish moving forward.”
