Club News

The Hull FC Community Foundation’s Touch Rugby League sessions returns next Monday for their Summer competition.

The sessions are extremely popular with supporters and local amateur clubs alike throughout the year.

Touch RL is a minimal contact offer for fitness and social benefits. This offer is open to players aged 16 and over, with any fitness level or sporting ability. The main difference between Touch RL and the traditional sport is that tackles are made by a touch to the body of the ball carrier, their clothing, or the rugby ball itself.

Beginning on Monday 12th April and running throughout the Summer until Monday 28th June, Touch RL games will take place between 7.00pm and 9.00pm with fixture details to be confirmed in due course.

The weekly sessions will take place at the Sirius Academy West, Pickering Road Entrance (HU4 7AB), on their outdoor floodlit 4G pitch, with parking available in Hull FC Centre of Excellence and/or on Pickering Road.

Teams are charged just £20 per week to play, with a maximum of 10 players per team (6-a-side games with a maximum of 4 substitutes)

All teams must be registers ahead of the start of the competition next week, with the deadline for entering your team being 5pm on Saturday 10th April. Due to the league structure in place, teams are unable to turn up and play without entering at the start of the start of the competition.

Making sure we abide with the Government and the RFL’s ‘return to play’ guidance and support for COVID-19, each team will play one league fixture each week with games being 40 minutes long – 20 minutes each half.

Each team will play each other once, before the league will culminate in a Finals Night where the top placed team will receive a fully signed 2021 Hull FC playing shirt.

To register your team’s interest, please email richard.tate@hullfc.com

Meanwhile, our Veterans ans Social Touch Competition will begin on Thursday 15th April, which is a weekly fun-filled Touch Rugby programme for former armed forces service men/women and members of the public – just turn up and play.

Sessions take place between 6.00pm and 7.00pm every Thursday. Register your interest for the turn up & play sessions by emailing michael.swainger@hullfc.com.

Touch Rugby League is just one of several Hull FC Community Foundation sessions, part of our Empower project, that are returning to in-person delivery in line with the recent relaxation of restrictions on grassroots and community sports.
