Hull FC will take on York City Knights in a pre-season friendly on Thursday March 11th (7.30pm) to celebrate the launch of the Knights brand-new community stadium!

The fixture will be the first ever Rugby League match at the brand-new home of the Betfred Championship side, the LNER Community Stadium, which recently opened at the end of 2020.

The friendly clash will also be Brett Hodgson’s first game in charge of the Black & Whites, as the squad finalise their pre-season preparations just a fortnight before the start of the Betfred Super League season.

The match will be played behind closed doors in-line with current regulations.

However, the match will be streamed live via the OurLeague app, with FREE access for 2021 members.

Pay-per-view streaming passes will also be available for non-members who wish to watch the match in full. For full information, see below.

The match is likely to be the first appearance in a Hull shirt for new signing Josh Reynolds, whilst York can boast a wealth of former Super League experience in their ranks including former FC player Danny Washbrook, alongside the likes of Adam Cuthertson, Ryan Atkins and Ben Jones-Bishop.

Hull FC head coach Brett Hodgson said: “It will be great to be part of the first match at the new stadium which looks fantastic.

“The game will be a good hit-out for both sides and a good marker as to where we are at with a fortnight to go to the season begins.

“The squad have been shown fierce determination in their efforts so far and I’m looking forward to seeing what we can do in our first game of the year against a strong Championship squad.”
