Established solicitor and lifelong Hull FC supporter Gordon Sewell has been appointed to the club’s board of directors as a legal advisor.

The 41-year-old was born on Hessle Road in the shadows of the Boulevard and is a member of the Sewell family, highly regarded locally for their business enterprise and entrepreneurship.

Sewell is a former academy graduate at the club, who decided to pursue a career in law at the age of 16, training as a Barrister and rated as an outstanding advocate.

Having been admitted to the Roll of Solicitors in 2008, he brings a wealth of experience and expertise in general civil and commercial litigation, representing regional and international clients in business.

Sewell is joined by another Non-Executive Director, Ralph Zoing, who was also appointed to the board last year.

Zoing is hugely experienced in the financial services sector where he has worked with high profile organisations for over 30-years, including publicly listed product providers and privately-owned banking institutions.

Having co-founded and grown Marshall Zoing, which sold to private equity in 2016, he has since established the well-regarded practice Harrogate Wealth Management.

Zoing is not unfamiliar to sport either, having been a prolific point scorer for Leeds Carnegie and Harrogate, before coaching the latter to two Yorkshire Cup wins and the National 7s title at Twickenham.

Both appointees join the club’s Chairman, Adam Pearson, and Chief Executive, James Clark, on the Hull FC Board of Directors.

Pearson owns the club having bought the Black & Whites in 2011, whilst Clark is the longest serving member of the board having been with the club since 2009.

They are also supported by a financial advisor to the board, Nigel Hansford, who has previously been a Director at Wigan Warriors, St Helens and JJB Sports.

We would like to welcome Gordon Sewell and Ralph Zoing to the club and thank the board for their committed service and support as they guide the club through the ongoing challenge of Covid-19.
