Details have been confirmed for the awarding of the Clive Sullivan Trophy for tomorrow night’s fixture against Hull Kingston Rovers.

FC take on the Robins at the Totally Wicked Stadium in the second and final Hull Derby of the 2020 Betfred Super League campaign tomorrow (7.45pm), with the Black & Whites holding the bragging rights going into the game having defeated Rovers in the Round 2 clash back in February.

Each season sees the two rivals battle it out for the Clive Sullivan Trophy, in memory of the Rugby League icon who made over 550 combined appearances for the two clubs between 1961 and 1985.

In usual circumstances, with Hull and Rovers typically facing each other three times a season, the trophy would be awarded to the side who wins the most games. However, with the two sides only meeting twice in 2020, the trohpy will be awarded on the basis of aggregate score.

Hull’s 25-16 win in February mean it is the Black & Whites’ who have the advantage going into the game;

  • A victory for the Black & Whites would secure the Clive Sullivan Trophy.
  • A Hull KR victory with a winning margin of eight points of less means FC would still claim the trophy.
  • For Hull KR to claim the trophy, they must win the game by at a ten-point margin.
  • Should Hull KR win the game by a nine-point margin, the trophy would be shared.
