Andy Last has named a 19-man squad for tonight’s clash against Leeds Rhinos, brought to you in assocation with Jadan Press.

With Castleford unable to fulfil their scheduled fixture against the Rhinos this evening due to nine players being affected by the Covid-19 outbreak, the Black & Whites have stepped in with less than 24 hours notice to play the fixture in West Yorkshire.

Hull themselves are facing their own selection issues, with the club only able to name 19 players for the match, instead of the usual 21-man squad.

Andy Last is without 13 regulars for the match with nine players missing through injury and a further four players unavailable due to Covid-19.

Joe Cator, Jordan Lane, Masi Matongo, Gareth Ellis, Albert Kelly, Ratu Naulago, Danny Houghton, Josh Jones, Scott Taylor, Adam Swift, Manu Ma’u, Kieran Buchanan and Jamie Shaul are all unavailable for selection.

That means youth will get its chance for tonight’s game, with two potential debutants named in the 19-man squad, which includes 8 local academy graduates.

Despite the short notice and several players being unavailable, the club’s coaching staff and senior players group made the unanimous decision to fulfil the fixture for the good of the sport.

They have recognised and understand first-hand the challenges that Covid-19 presents and they believe this is a time for the sport to remain unified.

The club standby their decision and we are extremely proud of their commitment and dedication to the sport.
