On the 15th anniversary of their historic Challenge Cup Final victory in Cardiff, the Black & Whites have launched their 2020 third shirt – a limited edition version of the famous jersey worn that day, and it is on sale now!
A remake of the shirt worn in the historic 25-24 victory over Leeds Rhinos at the Millennium Stadium, regarded as one of the greatest cup finals of all-time, will be worn in this year’s Coral Challenge Cup when the Airlie Bird’s face Castleford Tigers.
15 years ago today, John Kear’s men defied all the odds to upset the bookmakers and claim their first triumph in the competition in 23 years, with Paul Cooke’s late try clinching a famous victory.
A popular shirt design ever since, the special edition remake includes the names of all 17 players who pulled on the shirt that day, as well as a classy imprint of the iconic silver feather pattern from the Challenge Cup trophy.

In an extra special touch, the club can confirm that £5 from every limited edition jersey sold will be donated to the Rob Burrow fund to help him and his family with their ongoing fight against Motor Neurone Disease.
Burrow featured for the Rhinos on that day back in 2005 earning a runners-up medal alongside two-time Hull FC Challenge Cup winning captain and friend, Gareth Ellis, who also played for Leeds that day.

The club wanted to recognise Rob Burrow’s fantastic contribution to the sport and support him and his family during their ongoing health battle, having originally planned to wear the special edition shirt against Leeds Rhinos at Magic Weekend – before it was postponed due to Covid-19.
However, the shirt, the anniversary and the chance to support one of the game’s greatest ever players was an opportunity that was too important to be missed.
