Loyal & Proud: Membership Rebate Options

Hull FC has released the following information for our valued members, following the unprecedented effects of Covid-19 on the club and the Super League season.

Club News

Hull FC has released the following information for our valued members, following the unprecedented effects of Covid-19 on the club and the Super League season.

Firstly, let us say thank you once again for the incredible loyalty and pride you have shown in our club in recent months – it has not gone unnoticed.

We are excited about the imminent return of rugby league and we have been buoyed by the government’s intentions to allow crowds into stadiums from October.

We are working tirelessly with Super League, the RFL and stadium and health officials to examine how this will work in practice and our members will be our priority.

However, we do appreciate that current restrictions and a shortened season mean that our members will miss a number of home matches due to the cancellation of fixtures and ‘Behind Closed Doors’ matches.

The club has also been significantly affected.

The continued lack of income since March, including ticket sales and commercial revenue, plus further reductions in central Super League distributions, has left us facing a critical financial challenge, with a multi-million shortfall projected over the next 18-months.

With all this in mind, we recently engaged with our members through a series of focus groups and online surveys to evaluate suitable rebate opportunities to reward your loyalty, whilst ensuring no further financial damage to the club.

Thousands of members shared their opinions with the club, as well as further invaluable contributions from supporter groups FC Voices and the Hull FC Vice Presidents.

This process delivered some fantastic feedback:

● Over 96% of members want to continue to support the club financially and help us avoid any further costs or lost income to safeguard the future of Hull FC

● Most members would like their support and loyalty recognised and rewarded in some way

● 30% of members didn’t want anything in return for their loyalty, they just wanted to play their part in helping their club

● More than two thirds of members were happy for their loyalty to be rewarded with items or opportunities that do not create further cost to the club

● Options such as price freezes, prize draws, FC Live and streaming of ‘behind closed doors’ games were popular requests

We are extremely grateful for the volume of feedback we have received and would like to thank our members for their overwhelmingly positive response.

We have used this feedback to prepare two rebate options for our members – these are based on rewarding loyalty and providing credit in return for missing matches.

Both options will include a guaranteed price freeze for members in 2021 and free live coverage of Behind Closed Doors matches.

Option 1: Loyalty Rewards

● Membership price freeze for the 2021 Season

● Free live coverage of ‘Behind Closed Doors’ matches

For clarity, and in light of such positive feedback, refunds will not be issued in-line with our standard membership terms and conditions.

The club simply cannot afford to expose itself to the risk of refunds at such a financially critical time.

Without the ongoing commitment and support of our members, the club would not be in a position to continue beyond the end of this season.

We acknowledge that some members may be experiencing exceptional circumstances that effect their membership.

Should this be the case, please send your day time contact number to membership@hullfc.com and our team will be on hand to try and help.

Please be patient when contacting us – the vast majority of our staff remained furloughed and our phone lines are currently unavailable. We will aim to respond to your email as soon as possible.

How to select your option:

Members can choose their preferred loyalty option by completing this simple online form – click the black tab below to complete.

Alternatively, members can provide their option in a written note/letter to: Hull FC Memberships, KCOM Stadium, Hull, HU3 6HU

Please include the following information, exactly how it appears on your membership card/membership application: membership number, full name, full home address, contact number, email address, and either Option One: Loyalty Rewards, or Option Two: Loyalty Credit.

Members have until Friday 14th August 2020 to choose one of the above options.

For members who have not responded by this date, it will be assumed that you have declined either option and simply wish to maintain your support of the club without the need for any form of rebate.

Frequently Asked Questions

How will live streaming of Behind Closed Doors matches work?

We are working with Super League & SkySports to provide live coverage of all our matches. At this stage, SkySports are committed to showing the majority if not all of our Behind Closed Doors games live on their channels. Any matches not broadcast by SkySports will be made available via the OurLeague app with an exclusive link provided to our members. In the event a match cannot be provided by OurLeague, the club will deliver this via our own live stream. You can read the full details of the SkySports streaming here – https://www.rugby-league.com/streaming_faqs

What if I don’t have a SkySports subscription?

Members do not need to be a SkySports subscriber to watch matches via the OurLeague live stream. This is an exclusive benefit of being a Hull FC member.

How will I receive my retail vouchers if I choose the Loyalty Credit option?

Your discount vouchers and offers for retail items and FCLive will be sent to your email address as a unique code specific to you, including your membership number. Please ensure you provide us with an up to date email address. This is due to the current public health situation and our club retail stores remaining closed for the time being, whilst the vast majority of our retail and membership staff remain on furlough. In the rare exception that you do not have access to an email address, please write to our membership team and they will contact you to make alternative arrangements.

When will I receive my rewards including online retail vouchers and access to Hull FC Live?

Vouchers and rewards will be sent via email on or around the 1st September 2020.

I pay monthly and my payments are in arrears. Can I still claim the rewards?

If your direct debit payments are not up to date, you will not be eligible to receive either loyalty scheme. Your payments must be up to date by 31st August 2020. You will also not be able to access our behind-closed-doors matches live-streams, or be allowed access to the KCOM Stadium when matches resume. This is to ensure the fairest system possible for all supporters, including those who have maintained their support in full throughout the year.

Does the Membership price freeze apply to junior and youth members even if we move up to a higher price bracket next season?

Yes. Junior members will pay the same price for a membership in 2021 as they did in 2020, even if they are moving up to the ‘youth’ category prices. Likewise with youth members moving up to the adult category.
