Hull FC half-back Albert Kelly has confirmed he will be heading home to Australia with his family at the end of the season.

The 29-year-old joined the Black & Whites in 2017 from rivals Hull KR, winning the Challenge Cup in his debut season.

Kelly has scored 40 tries in 68 appearances during the four years he has been with the club, playing a pivotal role alongside fellow playmakers Marc Sneyd and Jake Connor.

He has previously represented Gold Coast Titans and Cronulla Sharks in the NRL prior to heading the UK and will now return to Australia to spend time with his family and embark on new opportunities.

Speaking about his decision to return home, Kelly said: “Firstly I would like to thank all the members and supporters for their support and to all the staff across the board.

“I’m grateful for the opportunity this great club has given me and the special memories it has given me and my family. I’ve been here in the UK nearly six years and now that the kids are getting older I think it’s the right time to head home.

“Hull in general will always have a special place in our hearts as my son Boston was born here! Hopefully down the track I can bring him back and watch a game or two.”

He added, “With all that said I’m super keen to get back to business and finish on a high with the fellas.”

The club would like to thank Albert for his contribution to the club over the past four seasons, including the memorable role he played in helping the club secure back-to-back Challenge Cup success in 2017.

On behalf of everyone at the club, we send Albert, Tia and the children our best wishes for the future ahead of their return to Australia and we look forward to Albert finishing his time with the club on a high this season.
