Every Monday during the COVID-19 pandemic, we will be featuring some of our Hull FC Key-Worker Heroes – supporters working on the front-line to keep the country running, nominated by you!

Chelsee Denby (Nominated by aunt Alison Watson)

Chelsee is in senior care management and it’s taken her a few years of training and hard work to get to this point. Shes worked in various residential homes and also done agency work to support herself and her two children.  She is a 1000% committed to her job her role as a key-worker looking after the elderly

She has gone  as far as even attending funerals of some of her residents that have sadly passed away. She is dedicated, kind, compassionate and full of empathy, always professional putting the needs of the clients first.

Even though my niece has asthma too, she still puts those people first before herself. She is soon to start a job full-time within the NHS sector and just want her to know how incredibly proud I am of her and have nothing but sheer respect and admiration in the way she handles everything and for how hard she has worked to get to where she has.

Courtney Sullivan (Nominated by dad Dean Sullivan)

My daughter Courtney Sullivan is a student nurse in her 2nd year, and now working in the community working with the elderly. She is working over 40 hours a week so she can help with medication or anything they need while COVID-19 is around.

She is slso doing her assignments for university on her days off. I am so proud of her.

Keep up the hard work in these challenging times Courtney, we are all proud of you and I cant wait to see you when we are allowed.
Love and miss you, Dad.

Abby Forrester (Nominated by dad Sam Robinson)

My daughter Abby  is a second year student nurse who has opted in to extend her current placement on an elderly ward at HRI to help in this unprecedented time.

She also has a part time job at Sainsbury’s so we have a double wammy key-worker hero. We are all so incredibly proud of her.

Lauren Peach (Nominated by mum Tracy Bartle)

I’m nominating my daughter Lauren. She is a carer for the elderly in a carehome in Beverley, and a massive black and white fan. She has been working in care for 5, nearly 6 years now, she is hardworking and absolutely loves her job.

Working through this pandemic, I’ve realised just how hard it actually is for my daughter and for everyone else working frontline. It is mentally, physically and emotionally draining for her.

I’m so proud of my daughter for still going to work to look after the vulnerable during this hard time.

Keith Gilbey (Nominated by wife Simone Gilbey)

My key-worker hero is my husband Keith. He has been a Hull FC supporter since he was six years old.

During this COVID-19  pandemic he has been working long hours and overtime as a paramedic, always putting other people first before himself. He is my hero!

Tanya Cavney (Nominated by son Alex Moon)

I would like to nominate my mum: Tanya Cavany. She is a cystic fibrosis specialist nurse who has been at work every week since the start of the pandemic, running her service and also putting herself on the front line in ICU.

She is an inspiration and puts her patients and service before her own health.

David Dorley (Nominated by daughter Imogen Dorley)

My dad has been a Hull FC fan near enough all of his life! He is a key worker currently working at Hull Royal Infirmary. I don’t really understand what his job role is as it changes quite often!

Sometimes he sits and helps with giving tools during operations. Right now he is working in the ICU, helping the people with Coronavirus!

He also went to do some training a couple of weeks ago at the new Nightingale hospital in Harrogate. He works majority of the days and sometimes nights when he gets called in. I have nominated my dad as he’s making a massive change to the world and even though it is stressful for him, he keeps a smile on his face and keeps pushing along. I’m very proud of my dad! He deserves the recognition as does all the other nurses!
