Ryan Westerman graduated from Hull FC’s Scholarship programme at the end of the 2022 season and he was subsequently offered a contract with the club’s Academy ahead of the 2023 campaign.

Although Westerman played a handful of games in the back-row for the Under 16s early on in the 2022 campaign, he was transitioned into the centres, with the youngster possessing many key attributes to fulfil that role.

The former Beverley Braves junior is a strong runner of the ball, so he can fill in at second-row when required.

Westerman, who is also a capable goal-kicker, made his Hull FC Academy debut in a 36-10 win over Bradford Bulls Under 18s in March 2023, scoring a try for the Black & Whites.
