Joe Ward arrived in East Yorkshire ahead of the 2023 Academy Championship campaign along with his former East Leeds and Bradford Bulls Under 16s team mate Cobie Wainhouse.

Unlike Wainhouse, Ward operates in the backs, predominantly as a winger.

Ward made his Academy debut for Hull FC against his former outfit, Bradford Bulls Under 18s, in March 2023.
