CLUB CONFIRM MANU TO TALK TO OTHER CLUBS
By Matt Holden | Monday, 30 April 2012
Hull FC have today moved to end speculation regarding the future of 32-year-old forward Willie Manu, confirming he is now free to speak to other clubs.
The long serving out-of-contract second rower, who joined the Black and Whites in 2007, has turned down a number of significant contract offers to stay at the KC Stadium and will now look elsewhere for a new deal for 2013 and beyond.
The club have confirmed they have given permission for other clubs to approach Manu and his representatives and they expect his future will be resolved imminently.
Director of Rugby, Shaun McRae, commented, “We’re obviously disappointed that Willie has decided to finish his career away from Hull FC, but we wish him well for the future.
“He has been a good servant to the club and a popular player with our supporters and he will leave us in the highest regard.
“We made Willie a number of large offers that would have made him considerably one of the highest earners at the club, but he has decided to look for a contact elsewhere.
He added, “We look forward to him wanting to finish his tenure as a Hull player on a high with some strong performances for the remainder of the season.”
