Hull FC can confirm that Matty Dawson-Jones has been released from the remainder of his contract to take up an opportunity at another club.
The 29-year old, who joined FC from Leigh Centurions at the start of the 2019 season is set to join a Betfred Championship side who can provide him with regular game time over the coming months.
Dawson-Jones recently returned to full fitness after a year on the sidelines, having suffered an ACL injury after making his club debut in 2019, but has reached a mutual agreement with the club to pursue an opportunity elsewhere.
Hull FC head coach Lee Radford said: “Matty has had terrible luck with injury since he’s been with us, which unfortunately has seen him drop down the pecking order for the beginning of the upcoming season.
“However, this move ensures he’ll be getting regular game time, which is exactly what he needs at this stage of his career.
“He has shown great professionalism around the training ground during his injury recovery, and I can assure you that he’s going to be a great addition for his new club.
“We’d like to place on record our thanks for Matty’s efforts, and wish him the very best of luck for the future.”
