Marc Sneyd has expressed his excitement for today’s Derby Day atmosphere in his first Good Friday game at the KCOM Stadium!
The man behind last week’s dramatic Golden Point victory in the South of France confirmed his future with the club this week by signing a three-year contract extension at the Black & Whites keeping him at the KCOM Stadium until the end of 2022.
And Sneyd is hoping to celebrate the big week with victory today in the biggest home clash of the season against Hull Kingston Rovers.
Speaking to hullfc.com, Sneyd said: “All the boys are aware of how many tickets have been sold, the atmosphere around the stadium is something to look forward to in itself.
“There is obviously that little added extra of wanting payback for the result in Round One, but a lot has changed since then, especially on our side of the coin. We’re playing a better type of rugby and we’re going about our business a lot better. If we concentrate on what we need to do and organise ourselves well, we’ll be okay.
Sneyd featured in the match day squad alongside fellow half-backs Albert Kelly and Jake Connor last week, and says the choice of leaving a half on the bench brings an added bonus to the side.
“Obviously that is Radders’ headache to have, but whoever he decides to play there will give it their all. Having a half on the bench like we did against Catalans helps bring some versatility and some extra bite off the bench.”
And on teammate and former Robin, Sneyd added: “Albert goes about his business quietly - a lot of the rivalry stuff goes above his head and he doesn’t let any of it get to him. But that doesn’t mean he won’t turn up on Friday and want to steal the limelight!”
