Carlos Tuimavave has scooped the March SDG Cabling Player of the Month award, whilst Albert Kelly’s interception try against London has been voted as the SS Testing Try of the Month.
Voted for by Black & White supporters on hullfc.com, Tuimavave claimed the latest SDG Cabling Player of the Month award thanks to a series of impressive performances.
Fellow centre Josh Griffin was also nominated for the SDG Cabling Player of the Month award for March, as well as Bureta Faraimo and young prop Masi Matongo, who was included in the voting for the second consecutive month.
But it was Tuimavave who claimed the March award with 42% of the vote. The former Junior Kiwis captain amassed over 100 metres in games against Huddersfield Giants, Leeds Rhinos and Warrington Wolves during March, whilst the ex-Samoan international scored an important try against London Broncos in the capital.
Meanwhile, Kelly’s impressive try in that game against the Broncos has been voted as the SS Testing Try of the Month.
The former Australian Schoolboy made his first appearance of the season away to Huddersfield last month, and his return from injury was a major boost for the Black & Whites, with Kelly crossing the whitewash on three occasions in March.
One of those tries came against London at Ealing Trailfinders Sports Ground, where he intercepted the pass of former team mate Jordan Abdull, evaded the challenge of Rhys Williams and raced away to help Hull on towards a crucial two points in the capital.
As well as scoring three tries in March, Kelly also assisted two scores for his team mates.
