Hull FC were presented with the opportunity to train with 2013 NRL Grand Final winners Sydney Roosters earlier today.
Former Black & Whites forward Craig Fitzgibbon, who is a part of the coaching team at the Roosters, was reunited with his former club and some familiar faces, including front-row partner in crime Lee Radford.
The likes of Cooper Cronk, Blake Ferguson and Daniel Tupou were training alongside the Airlie Birds, as Hull prepared for Saturday’s international double-header against St George Illawarra Dragons, whilst Sydney were gearing up for a trial match against Penrith Panthers at the weekend.
It was good to see centre Carlos Tuimavave on the training field today. He’s missed the opening two games through a hamstring injury but is targeting making his return against St George.
Former Black & Whites outside back Curtis Naughton teamed up with Radford’s side at the Roosters’ training ground. He’s been drafted in to the squad temporarily and his services will be utilised in Saturday’s match against the Dragons as a one-off.
Some of the youngsters such as Jordan Lane and Jack Downs were taken aback by the opportunity to train with some of the world’s best players, as the latter explained to hullfc.com.
“I grew up watching the NRL and players like Cooper Cronk, Boyd Cordner and now I’m training on the same pitch as them. It’s unbelievable,” Downs said.

“Training with the Roosters is not only a great in-the-moment opportunity for us players, but it’s also now when Hull FC are being put in the window, right in front of these big NRL sides.”
