Preparations for 2018 began today as pre-season training got underway at Hull FC’s Elite Performance Centre.
The majority of the senior players haven’t reported back for pre-season training just yet, with the younger players featuring on the first day.
Fresh from successful loan spells with Wakefield Trinity and Hull Kingston Rovers respectively, Dean Hadley and Jordan Abdull were amongst the players back in pre-season training.
Star outside back Jake Connor and Hull FC’s Young Player of the Year Brad Fash were also back in along with the rest of the younger players.
Head of High Performance Paul Hatton put them through their paces with some conditioning with the players also spending time in the weights room.
Hadley, who spent the majority of the 2017 campaign on loan at Wakefield Trinity, knows how tough pre-season is but is excited to get back playing for the Black and Whites.
“Last year’s gone now and I had a good year, but I’m really looking forward to this year and we were in on Friday for testing and it’s all started today,” he said.
“Pre-season is what it is - it’s the toughest part of the year and you’ve just got to knuckle down. Physically you’re pushed to the limit but also mentally as well.
“It’s a tough period and we all do it and we have to get through it because games are only around the corner.”
Interviews with Hadley and centre Jack Logan will be available on Hull FC Live later this week.
