Hull FC head coach Lee Radford says he’ll know more about the fitness his injured stars on Saturday before Sunday’s visit of Castleford Tigers.
The Black and Whites have been without Man of Steel Danny Houghton, Fetuli Talanoa, Josh Griffin, Josh Bowden and Chris Green recently.
Radford will name his squad for the game against high-flying Castleford tomorrow lunchtime and says he will know about the fitness of some of his injured stars on Saturday.
“They’re all struggling because they all missed the previous games and I leave it as late as I can come selection time and we’ll know more on Saturday after they’ve had their fitness tests,” he said.
“All those players that missed will have a fitness test and then hopefully we’ll get a few green lights and not too many reds.
“I’ve said they’ll hopefully be back and that puts some pressure on the physio staff!”
The Airlie Birds could go second with a win over table toppers Castleford on Sunday afternoon and they will be aiming to win for the first time on home soil since last month.
Having snapped a three-game winless run on Easter Monday against Leigh Centurions, Radford says it’s important to have a win under their belt ahead of a huge game.
“It’s always nice rolling into a game having a W next to your name from the week before and that’s what we’ve got,” said Radford.
“I’m really looking forward to Sunday and they’re playing attractive rugby.”
