Hull FC star Richard Horne has been nominated in the final four for this year’s Hull and East Yorkshire ‘Professional Sports Personality of the Year’ Award.
Horney has been put through to the final four following his remarkable comeback from last season’s career threatening neck injury, alongside his fight against diabetes.
As well as that, it has also been recognised that it is the 27-year-old is celebrating his testimonial year at Hull FC and the nomination goes someway to highlighting his contribution to the club and the city.
The other nominees in the final four are former Hull full-back Shaun Briscoe, now at Hull KR, as well as Hull City’s Ian Ashbee and Hull Stingrays’ Lee Esders.
Hull legend Johnny Whiteley is also up for an award in the ‘Sporting Moment of the Year’ award, after being awarded freedom of the city.
